7PM: Player Check In
8PM:Home Run Derby Contest (Details forthcoming)
9PM: Announcement of players, singing of the National Anthem by a Faith West Academy Student (TBA)
9:10PM: Ceremonial First Pitch by Recipient or Family Member
Play through Midnight until 10AM Saturday: Play Ball!

Saturday, around 9:30 AM,: 37th Inning Stretch and singing of God Bless America and Take Me Out to the Ball Game by Faith West Academy Students, TBA)
Saturday around 10:30AM: Closing and Presentation of “Check” to Recipient, Farewell Speech
 
Scheduled to appear: Showcase of the Faith West Cheerleaders, perhaps an ex Houston Astro and also a special guest appearance, TBD...(I'll try again to get Miss Houston, 2011)


FAQ
Q. What is the Eli Barken Midnight Madness Marathon Charity Baseball Game?
A. The event is a baseball marathon game, organized by Global Sports Foundation, a Texas non-profit corporation.  The proceeds of the event will go to a recipient who has financial stress due to cancer or ALS, recipient TBD.  The proceeds will cover medical and living expenses.

Q. When and where is the Event?
A. Friday July 22 and Saturday July 23, 2010.  Lance Berkman Inspiration Field @ Faith West Academy.

Q. How  long is the Event?
A. It's one game, two teams play continously for at least 12 hours!  Team Fortitude vs. Team Endurance

Q. Who can play?
A. Anyone can play, any age, so long has they are comfortable playing hardball (regular baseball).  Yes, high school kids can play with parent/guardian permission.  Most players will likely be adults, from various amatuer leagues from around Houston.

Q. Can I play with a friend or relative?
A. Absolutely!

Q. If I play, do I have to stay the entire time?
A. Since the theme is a marathon, it highly suggested you comit to stay the entire time and rotate with your fellow players who have commited to being there all night.  Remember, this is the first marathon game of its kind in the Houston area in it's second year!  The local press and TV have been invited to cover this event!

Q. What is the donation to play?
A. The donation is $200 with all proceeds going directly to the recipient, TBD, who is suffering from either cancer or ALS.

Q. How can I raise funds to play if I do not have the funds myself?
